Aquire Inc. Names Purcell as Director of Application Development
IRVING, Texas - Aug. 31, 1999 - Aquire, Inc., a leader in organizational chart publishing software, announced today the appointment of Eric Purcell as director of application development. Purcell is responsible for new product development with an emphasis on database connectivity using Open Database Connectivity (ODBC) specifications for OrgPublisher for Intranets?, Aquire's flagship product.
Purcell joins Aquire after 12 years with Fidelity Investments in Dallas where he worked in several positions ranging from programmer to senior database administrator. Prior to working for Fidelity, Purcell worked for Electronic Data Systems (NYSE: EDS) in Plano, Texas, as a programmer. "We are extremely pleased to welcome Eric to our team," said Lois Melbourne, president of Aquire Inc. "He will be instrumental in our future product development and enhancement. His extensive experience with database specifications and functionality is a welcome addition to our programming team." Purcell is a 1981 graduate of Cornell University in Ithaca, N.Y., where he earned a bachelor's of science degree in finance.
