Aquire Receives GSA Approval

IRVING, Texas — MAY 6, 2003 — We are pleased to announce Aquire's acceptance as a GSA approved vendor. For government agencies interested in purchasing OrgPublisher or OrgBuilder, the process just got easier!

Many people have heard the term "GSA" but don't know exactly what it means to be GSA approved. GSA, an acronym for the U.S. General Services Administration, is a centralized federal procurement and property management agency created by Congress to improve government efficiency and help federal agencies better serve the public. It acquires, on behalf of federal agencies, office space, equipment, telecommunications, information technology, supplies, and services. Aquire's org charting tools, OrgPublisher and OrgBuilder, will assist government agencies in managing various organizational scenarios, including reorganizations, workflow management, resource allocation planning, as well as providing accurate hierarchical "who reports to whom" information.
"The decision to pursue a GSA contract was based on our aggressive strategy for expanding our vertical market focus, which includes a heavy emphasis on the government sector," said Lois Melbourne, chief executive officer and co-founder of Aquire. "After careful evaluation of vertical market opportunities and understanding what the government is facing, particularly with the Homeland Security initiative, it made sense to devote resources to securing a GSA contract."
GSA's Federal Supply Schedules, also known as Multiple Award Schedules (MAS), are contracts that allow federal customers to acquire more than 4 million services and products directly from more than 8,600 commercial suppliers. GSA Schedules cover a vast array of commercial items - from office supplies and copier paper to systems furniture, from computers to laboratory equipment, and services ranging from accounting to graphic design to landscaping.

GSA, comprised of 14,000 associates, provides services and solutions for the office operations of over 1 million federal workers located in 8,300 government-owned and leased buildings in 1,600 U.S. communities.
